Bedshed leads with Global Trends
Bedshed executives and franchisees have just returned from an international tour to ensure the brand remains a leader in and out of the bedroom.
Chief Operating Officer, Gavin Culmsee and National Merchandise Manager, Les Sevel visited a series of trade shows and retail flagships in Germany, the United Kingdom, New York and Los Angeles before joining a number of Bedshed franchisees at The Las Vegas Market show.
Mr Culmsee said the trip helped Bedshed maintain its position as an innovative leader in the bulky goods sector.
“The trade shows we attended were showcasing the latest and greatest technology on offer in terms of bedding and bedroom furniture. In addition we get to see the upcoming trends from upholstery and lounge and dining furniture which is often where design cues start before moving into bedroom furniture,” he said.
The shows also give Bedshed corporate staff and franchisees a forum to continue to build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Twice a year, a group of franchisees join Bedshed corporate staff on buying trips to Singapore, China, Vietnam and Malaysia.
“This year’s trip was different as our focus was particularly on encouraging our franchisees to develop their professional network,” he said, “It’s great to have them on board because they know their customers’ needs better than anyone,” said Mr Culmsee.
Mr Culmsee and Mr Sevel also visited New York to experience exciting innovations which could change the retail landscape in Australia. Mr Culmsee said “In store technology continues to mature and provide further benefits to customers and Bedshed wants to make sure they are in touch with future progress.”
