Bedshed forges new international supplier relationships
A contingent of Bedshed executives and franchisees has visited Vietnam and Malaysia to forge relationships with potential new international suppliers.
Bedshed’s Chief Operating Officer, Gavin Culmsee, said the trip was designed to establish partnerships with a small selection of quality new suppliers.
“We visit international suppliers and trade shows twice-annually and our team is always looking for the best partners to supply the highest quality bedding and bedroom furniture products to our national network of stores,” said Mr Culmsee said.
“We met with a number of potential suppliers and we’ll be visiting them again later this year to view potential new ranges,” he said.
Mr Culmsee was joined by National Merchandise Manager Les Sevel and three franchisees from Western Australia and Melbourne.
“Bedshed’s Merchandise Advisory Council, comprising executives and franchisees, travels regularly to ensure we maintain our industry-leading position as a retailer of the latest product designs and innovations,” he said. “It’s how we stay ahead of the game.”
The recent trip was one of more than 15 for WA franchisee Russell Fudge, who has operated Bedshed stores for some 10 years.
“The visit was important in terms of giving potential suppliers some direction in product development, ensuring they understand what products will best suit the Australian market and local consumer tastes,” he said.
